Rajive Gulati served corporates, State and Centre Government, United Nations & Intergovernmental Organisations for more than 37 years.
His art of joining dots at academia where innovations and creativity by youths can impact the society has made him popular among the startup ecosystems as many startups got accelerated in different domains including assistive technologies.
He is pioneer in creating many sustainable models for innovators which he calls as “Playground for Startups/ innovators”.
As a team member he created Govt of Haryana’s first Startup Policy and modified the Communication & Connectivity and Infrastructure Policy (CCIP) of the state.
Govt of Haryana’s Startup Innovation Hub, Hartron Multi Skill Development Centre, Gurugram and Electronic City of Gurugram were some projects operationalised under his leadership to facilitate entrepreneurship.
First time in India a Hub of this kind created with a unique model of multiple collaborations- with Nasscom1000 Startup initiative, IAMAI 10X Mobile application Lab and Centre of Excellence for Internet of Things (CoE-IoT) with Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology-MeitY GoI was created for Skill to Startups mission of the state. This hub also envisioned and conceived the CSC Academy. (a MeitY-GoI initiative) for creating Village Level Entrepreneurs.
With United Nations established UN Technology Innovation Labs (UNTIL) in India with the above Hub. This lab was fourth of its kind in the world.
He is actively working with youth to align their innovations for SDG 2030 mission and creating collaborations with different Initiatives under this initiative including United Nations Academic Impact.
He was honoured by Govt of India DPIIT Ministry of Commerce & Industry-GoI for his contribution towards building a unique Incubation ecosystem of the Haryana State (2018).
He created a model as advisor to an Intergovernmental Organisation (AARDO): African-Asian Rural Development Organisation) having more than 30 member countries in Asia and Africa for linking affordable Innovations for Rural and Agricultural development. It is to link innovations/ technology/ startups that can bring impact in rural economy through agricultural and rural development. A ‘dynamic bucket of affordable innovations’ was created that is being accelerated from AARDO platform. This model has taken the attention of Stanford University Ideal Village initiative and a bigger collaboration was developed including with many IIT’s.
He also served AICTE-MHRD as regional director for Northwest region. Many initiatives for collaborative creativity were created through academic institutions from seven northern states.
Rajive carries with him vast experience of mentoring & accelerating more than three dozen startups and showcasing their innovations at national and international platforms.
His mentored startups won national awards during Startup India 2020, Toycathon and one of these also got opportunity to interact with Hon’ble PM during the Startup India International Summit-Prarambh. Some among them have been chosen to even showcase their innovations at International events (Slush, VivaTech etc)
He remined an active member for all the National Level Hackathons organised by Ministry of Education (MoE the then MHRD) till date. He also organised and managed the Indian part of the UN organised innovation challenges under reboot series (Reboot the earth, reboot the ocean etc). He has been honoured by MoE for his mentoring and acting as evaluator for Toycathon.
He also presented his unique model of facilitation innovators for impact and collaboration at many National and International Forums including TiE annual events, UN event at SLUSH, Finland and Viva Tech at Paris etc
He is passionate for skilling & entrepreneurship and aligning it with future technologies creating impact in the societies specifically with the help of youth and academia from T2/T3 cities. He calls it Campus-to-Company (C2C) and Lab-to-Life (L2L) mission under i2SAFE ( I too Skill All for Entrepreneurship).
He is acting as Advisor/ Mentor at numerous missions including some of the leading Attal Incubation Centres, Attal Community Centres across India and India Accelerator (IA- declared by GoI as the best accelerator of India) for joining dots through partnerships for accelerating innovations for impact.
He actively involved in creating policies/ concept documents for different State Governments Startup mission. For Haryana- startup policy, communication policy, Skill University, CSC Academy etc
He visited and participated in Panel Discussions at major global hubs of innovators/ startups to name few: Silicon Valley & Austin USA, Israel (for DLD), France (Station-F) and VIVA Tech 2022 Paris, Finland (for SLUSH), Japan, Kenya, Taiwan, Singapore etc.
He is being engaged as mentor and advisor for Universities ( SGT University, Mody University, PIET, JC Bose YMCA etc), startups and Institutions Innovation Councils.
One of his mentored institutions has been chosen in Haryana for establishing Idea Labs by AICTE-MoE from 49 selected from all over India. This is the only institution in north chosen from the five states in first phase.
Under Atamnirbhar Bharat mission he has entered Technology Transfer with Vikram Sarabhai Space Center-ISRO for Medical Oxygen Concentrators to be manufactured in locally with the help of a MSME.
He is also actively involved in building another model with ‘India Accelerator’ one of the leading accelerators for its IA Impact Labs- a dedicated ecosystem to support social entrepreneurs and purpose - driven startups to help grow sustainable and scalable businesses.
He has also advised and helped an organising for bringing 750 girl students from schools from pan India to participate in awareness of satellite technologies and participate in the launch of miniature satellite. This mission has been appreciated by Hon’ble Prime Minister at many of his recent speeches also.
He is also on the board of governors of some leading industrial initiative for social impact activities. To name few: Sarthak Education Trust for empowering the persons with disability, Lead India Foundation USA for innovation and entrepreneurship for empowering the rural livelihood under Dr APJ Abdul Kalam vision, Connecting Dreams Foundation (CDF) that provides the youth with an opportunity to empower people through entrepreneurial action to improve their livelihoods in an economically, socially and environmentally sustainable way.
He is passionate about creating sustainable models while joining different activities and policies for bringing impact in the society that are measurable and aligned with SDG mission 2030.
